Email2EDI and Fax2EDI
Get faster order processing and improved visibility over the entire trading community
Still receiving business documents via email or fax? Many small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) simply don’t have the resources or IT capacity to exchange business documents with you in your preferred format. Avoid the tug of war over how these documents are exchanged and turn those orders, invoices and other common business documents into data without additional data entry, and without requiring small business partners to change their business processes.
OpenText™ Email2EDI and OpenText™ Fax2EDI transform emailed and faxed forms to data—eliminating manual paper handling and re-keying and resulting in significant reductions in error-related losses and administrative costs.
Customer Success Stories
“We had to find a way to address the growing number of orders that come to us via email that had to be entered into the system manually. We had some trading partners that didn’t have the technology to be able to move to EDI, so OpenText Email2EDI provided a solution to automate the processing of these incoming email orders without the need for the customer to invest in the change.”
-- Jeanelle Frazer, EDI Coordinator, Coca Cola Amatil

OpenText Email2EDI and Fax2EDI - How it works
Document and character recognition
Leverage the most advanced document and character recognition capabilities available with OpenText™ Capture Center to transform email and fax documents into useable data in required formats, such as EDI and XML.
Business rules help drive what happens when data on a business document is missing or incorrect. OpenText works with organizations to define those rules and improve processing on a higher volume of documents, while reducing the number of exceptions to act on. If the document can’t be processed, an exception workflow will be created to decide how to handle it.
A self-validation web client allows users to correct errors as they occur and train the system to gradually improve its capture and transformation capabilities. Self-service validation has dramatically increased the breath of characters it recognizes, making it a perfect tool for specialized industries with uncommon symbols or characters.
The solutions provide automation for emails and faxes in multiple languages. OpenText systems support 70+ language and character sets due in large part to the self-validation web client.
