OpenText Content Suite Platform Add-on for Microsoft Office Online
The OpenText™ Content Suite Platform Add-on for Microsoft® Office Online leverages your investment in Microsoft Office 365® and OpenText Content Server to provide seamless editing and co-authoring for users.
For those customers who have also invested in Microsoft Office 365 for collaboration, OpenText has created a unique cohesive solution to allow Content Suite users to collaborate and co-author Office documents using Microsoft Office Online.
The add-on provides true Office-format editing capability without requiring the installation of any client software apart from a browser. All that is required is a connection to Content Server 16.2 and a Microsoft Office 365 license.
The Office Online document editing technology uses the web application versions of Microsoft Office to allow effortless collaboration. The new add-on is available for Content Suite Platform (CSP) customers that run CSP on-premises as well as in a hybrid scenario, for those customers hosting Content Suite Platform in the OpenText Cloud.
Seamless web editing and co-authoring
Web editing is the ability to edit a document using only browser-based technology, while not needing classic Microsoft Office desktop applications, ActiveX controls, or browser extensions.
Co-authoring offers an exciting leap in collaborative document management. It allows multiple people to work together on a Microsoft® Word document, Microsoft® Excel® spreadsheet or Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentation and to see real-time updates from all users working on the document.
